Step 1: Prep the Hair

Prep the hair by spraying Purify & Revive PRIME Demineralizing Spray generously throughout the hair, combing through for even distribution and allowing it to sit for 3 minutes (no rinsing or shampoo required). This will diminish hard water minerals prior to any chemical service.

Step 2: Section the Hair

Section the hair into five sections by first taking a radial parting from behind the ear to behind the ear to divide the front from the back. In the back, create two sections by taking a vertical parting from crown to nape. In the front, create three sections by taking horizontal partings along the parietal ride on each side of the head to create a mohawk section and two side sections.

Step 3: Base Color

Apply the base color on scalp to the regrowth taking ¼” diagonal back sections.

Step 4: Shadow Root

Go back through the same application taking wide, diagonal, zigzag sections feathering the base color down creating a shadow root for added depth and dimension.

Step 5: VIVIDS Prep

While the base color is processing, apply the ChromaSilk VIVIDS Original Prep Formula to the mid-lengths and ends in a balayage fashion without overlapping and create a Face Frame section by taking three back-to-back partings on each side, microstitching them (- – -) and applying the same formula.

Process 30 minutes at room temperature, cleanse the hair with PRAVANA’s Intense Therapy Cleanse, rinse and dry the hair completely.

Step 6: VIVIDS Overlay

Take a 2” diagonal back parting then split the section in half by taking a zigzag parting. Apply the ChromaSilk VIVIDS Original formulas to the top half of the section melting Formula 1 into Formula 2 into Formula 3. Continue in this pattern throughout all five sections.

Process 30 minutes at room temperature. Rinse with cold water and high water pressure until the water runs clear. Apply Color Protect Condition, rinse and style as desired.
