Application
Step 1: Prep
Prep the hair by spraying Purify & Revive PRIME Demineralizing Spray generously throughout the hair, combing through for even distribution and allowing to sit for 3 minutes (no rinsing or shampoo required). This will diminish any hard water minerals prior to any chemical service.
Pro Tip
Minerals are found in 85% of household water which can cause lightener to puff and swell or color to take inaccurately.
Step 2: Section
Divide the hair into the PRAVANA Standard 4 quadrants by taking a radial parting from crown to ear on both sides, then crown to nape dropping out your first diagonal back section and finally crown to nose dropping out your first hairline section.
Step 3: Highlight
Highlight the fringe and front hairline sections by utilizing vertical partings and micro stitching to create a heavily highlighted fringe and front halo 2” back from the hairline. Then taking horizontal sections, continue highlighting utilizing micro stitches in the front quadrants and macro stitches in the back quadrants.
Pro Tip
Utilize microstitches (- – -) in finer areas of the hair for a softer blend, use macrostitches (__ __ __) in thicker areas to cover more ground quickly.
Process at room temperature up to 55 minutes checking every 5-10 minutes until you have reached a Level 10 Pale Yellow. Shampoo the hair with Intense Therapy Cleanse and towel-dry well.
Step 4: Base Break and Tone
Take a horseshoe parting from temple to temple around the top of the occipital bone. Apply the Overlay Formula to the lightened pieces.
Step 5: VIVIDS Everlasting Application
Alternate the VIVIDS Everlasting Formulas using your own creativity to add as many or as little pops of color for a fun accent.
Process 30 minutes at room temperature. Cleanse and Condition with PRAVANA’s Intense Therapy regimen.
